So, how do you go green in the beauty industry?

The green concept isn’t just eco-friendly. It is holistic. From packaging made from recycled-material to ingredients sourced from sustainably-managed plantations, green practices take into consideration every aspect of the process. The ultimate goal is to create a minimal negative environmental impact. In the green haircare world, we take a closer look at the ingredients that go into the products we use and how they are derived. By opting for organic and vegan products, we know they are natural, harmless, non-toxic, and safe. Their ingredients are cultivated sustainably and do not contain chemical herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or antibiotics. These are not fractionated, adulterated, or over-processed ingredients, which means the natural healing properties, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants of plants remain fully active.

Vegan products are made, without harming animals. They contain no animal ingredients, animal by-products, or animal-derived products. Non-vegan beauty products usually contain beeswax, lanolin, carmine, squalene, gelatine, allantoin, ambergris, placenta, and uric acid. Products without animal ingredients are better for your skin, especially for sensitive or condition-prone skin. Vegan products are a soothing alternative to animal products, which are known to be harsher and clog pores. Furthermore, plant-derived ingredients contain more vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants better at repairing and hydrating skin. Your skin will thrive off on vegan care.

We pay attention to how products are researched and developed, and never use animal-tested products. Our cruelty-free approach chooses only ethical products. We are mindful about how we utilise water, electricity, and other resources, and how we manage waste.

Consumers are making considered choices and scrutinising products and services they use. The fast-paced growth of the global wellness economy is fuelling demand for clean products and practices. Salons and hair care brands that are choosing to go green are becoming luxury labels themselves. An increasing number of customers are willing to choose these over the normal and are seeking them out. Time has come for your salon to choose the green side.
