Natural Health Malta is a partner in the Erasmus+ Be-green project, entitled Beauty has never been so green, which includes partners from Portugal (Marca-ADL) and COFAC from Universidade Lusófona (Cooperativa de Formação e Animação Cultural).
The main aim of this project is to promote environmental sustainability in the cosmetics and beauty industry in the partner countries, as well as to encourage environmental education among all those involved in this sector, whether they are businesspeople, clients or anyone interested in maintaining a sustainable lifestyle. Specifically, the project aims to develop knowledge around ecological practices in the beauty sectors, the socio-economic barriers that influence consumer choices and their potential incentives, in the project’s partner countries. The project also aims to educate professionals working in this sector about ecological options and how to use them to best advantage.
The project will therefore take place in three distinct phases:
The first phase is a research phase, in which two questionnaires have been developed, aimed respectively at consumers and at entrepreneurs and businesspeople in this area, and which seek to understand the knowledge of both groups on the subject, what the obstacles are to using sustainable products, and their attitudes towards ecological and non-animal tested products.
The second phase of this project will be a training phase, based on the conclusions drawn from the previous phase, which will consist of a series of online training sessions aimed specifically at professionals in this sector, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of using this type of product in their businesses and creating a network of ecological beauty salons.
Finally, the third and last phase of this project will consist of taking part in ecological and sustainable beauty fairs, with the participation of the trainees from the previous phase, with the aim of broadly promoting and disseminating the benefits of using ecological beauty products to clients in particular.
